Introduction

Hello All!

Well Dan & I (Laura) decided to document this grand adventure that we have already started and will continue through out our lives together. We both have a great love for all things Mother Nature and could not think of a better way to see this great county of ours. We began our adventure together as husband and wife on July 1, 2006. During our honeymoon to Door County, WI we visited Peninsula Park and decided it would just be neat if we saw all the state parks in all the states.
It is ambitious! One look at the list of parks on the side bar will tell you that we have a lot to see. We have seen a few already, and you will see those in following posts.
Our family grew on July 7, 2008 with the addition of Lilly and she goes on all of these adventures with us. She loves riding in the backpack on Dan's back and loves to picnic, so you will see a bunch of her as well! We plan to review the parks as we go and of course post pics, so it's a bit of a travelblog as well!
Here are a few rules we made up for this adventure, all else will be made up as we go along!

ONE: We are only including STATE PARKS on this adventure, so that rules out state historic parks, recreation areas, marine parks, wildlife areas, natural areas, fisheries, and all other state designations. The designation of the park, must be STATE PARK. If we happen to go to one of those other state areas, that is just a bonus, but won't count. National Parks are a bonus too, but again won't count. They must be STATE PARKS. The list of parks in the sidebar are STATE PARKS only and those are what we are going to try and see. If you think we are missing some, please let us know (list is still not complete as of this posting, so please don't let us know YET...still under construction!)

TWO: We must hike a part of one trail in each park...after all we are trying to be healthy as well.

THREE: We are not including any parks that we each have been to individually. We have to go as a family in order for it to count.

FOUR: More to come....

BACKGROUND:
We just recently moved to Tennessee, before TN, we lived in Nebraska. Dan and I managed to see all but one of the state parks in NE, so I will post about the NE parks soon! Plus we have already been to one TN state park, so that post will be comig as well.

THIS BLOG:
Well I'm still working on getting it pretty, so hang in there, there will be changes daily until it how I like it.
The list of parks is a tedious process, so that will be ongoing as well.
The Map: Well we are figuring out about embedding the Google maps...I wish the gadget would work, but for now, if you want to use the map feature, click on 'view larger map' and a new window will pop up to Google Maps. We are trying to figure out how to place pins on the parks that we go to.

Ok, that is all for now...hope you enjoy following our travels!
